About Blue Voodoo

Blue Voodoo has been called “the ultimate bar band.” Sure, the band will make you want to order a drink. And the thump of the base drum will put some ripples in that drink too. But Blue Voodoo is as much at home on a festival or large venue stage as they are in a medium to large “joint”. Once described as having “one foot in the blues, and the other on the gas,” the band has been together for over 15 years. They bring a wide range of experience, and a set list that reads like the who’s-who of what rocks.

Hailing from the western suburbs of Chicago, Blue Voodoo has been performing with that name since the year 2000. But the roots of the band began way back in 1990. The band first gained notoriety as an SRV style Texas blues band, and that still shows - in their set lists, and in their style. Over time, the band started mixing in more and more classic rock, like the Rolling Stones, Hendrix, and AC/DC. Today, Blue Voodoo still brings all of that, plus a lot of heavier modern rock and alt rock, like Audio Slave, Velvet Revolver, even Weezer. In addition to their cover material, Blue Voodoo brings a host of original material that stands on it’s own, as awards and airplay will attest.

Come to a Blue Voodoo show, and see for yourself. But bring your friends and your drinkin’ shoes, ‘cause we take our rockin’ seriously.
